Summary of Position
We are seeking a Senior level backend or full-stack developer to join our team with a full time (40 hours a week) commitment. This individual will have the opportunity to lead other team members and have creative freedom on project development requirements. The ideal candidate will have a good sense of leadership and a thorough understanding of modern PHP OOP frameworks, like Laravel or Symfony. This person will be responsible for collaborating on technology stack decisions and product development with other team members. The position is available as remote or in-office.
Responsibilities and Duties
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with a dynamic web team responsible for delivering on the following projects and responsibilities:
- Investing in the future of our Digital Solutions:
- Catalyze – Association Website CMS (Drupal/Tailwind)
- CONFlux – API Driven Virtual Conference Software (Laravel/VueJS/Tailwind/Jitsi)
- SitePlex – Multi-tenant Conference Website CMS (WordPress SaaS)
- CATAVault – Asset and Presentation Library for Communities (Drupal)
- Engage – Slack-like Community Communication (Rocket.Chat)
- Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
- Writing clean, functional code
- Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues
- Implementing sustainable features
- DevOps using Docker workflows
Required Experience, Skills, and Education
- 3-6+ years web application development
- Proficiency with the following stacks: LEMP, LAMP, and/or MERN
- Familiarity with open source CMS projects (Drupal > 8.x, WordPress, October, Strapi)
- Excellent PHP OOP skills
- Intermediate or better Javascript skills
- Intermediate understanding of front-end frameworks such as VueJS, React, Svelt
- Familiarity with modern development and build tools including Git, SASS, Gulp, Composer, and/or Webpack with an awareness of best practices
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks while being a team player
- A desire for automation and sustainable solution-oriented development
Non-tangible Experience
- Enthusiasm for selecting the right tool for the job
- Enjoy a high level of communication with non-technical team members
- A desire for automation and sustainable solution oriented development
- A measure twice, cut once mentality for efficient workflow
Desirable interests and experience
- Decoupled/Headless application experience
- Experience with Jitsi or other WebRTC technologies
- Familiarity with server vendor technology deployments such as AWS, Platform.sh, Docker
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $70,000 to $90,000+ USD (compensation is evaluated based upon skills, education, and experience).
